Our History
The idea for the company was born at a family gathering. Almost everyone there owned a solar system and could supply themselves with green electricity. However, often more electricity was produced than needed. So why not source electricity directly from these solar systems? This sparked the idea of bringing producers and consumers together in a community, laying the foundation for the company.
In 2013, Lumenaza GmbH was founded. Under the name Lumenaza, a powerful SaaS platform was created, trusted by many renowned companies in the energy supply sector, including Octopus Energy, EnBW, E.ON and Regionah Energie.
Based on this SaaS platform, the end-customer brand Lumenaza.Community was launched a few years later. In 2024, Lumenaza.Community evolved into the brand LUOX Energy, with the goal of inspiring even more people to embrace the benefits of green energy.

A prosumer community is a group of households, businesses, and other stakeholders that have joined forces to use their decentralized energy systems (e.g. solar installations or electricity storage units) more efficiently together. Members of such an energy community are both producers and consumers - so-called “prosumers.” For example, households with rooftop solar panels can provide excess electricity to the community or draw energy from it to cover shortfalls. The LUOX Community is one such prosumer community.
