Market conditions for solar power are changing – your aggregation should too.

The aggregation of solar power is facing a paradigm shift: across Germany, photovoltaic systems generate their electricity concentrated within a few hours – with high feed-in peaks around midday. The result: low and even negative price phases and low market values for solar in the sunny months, sometimes below 2 ct/kWh.

With LUOX Energy's spot aggregation and various price-oriented feed-in strategies, you can leverage this dynamic to your advantage and unlock new revenue potentials that significantly exceed the average monthly or annual market value for solar.

Do you know the full return potential of your PV system?

The high price fluctuations in the electricity market are an expression of structural imbalances between supply and demand, thus offering real market opportunities. For an increasing number of plants, aggregation at exchange prices therefore enables significantly higher revenue potential. For example, profitability can be increased for a wide variety of plant types through east-west orientation, smart battery storage, or voluntary curtailment:

The LUOX Pricing Model – Transparent, Precise, Efficient

LUOX Energy does not act as an electricity trader, but as a broker: We trade your PV electricity directly on the exchange on your behalf. This means no risk premiums are incurred that could reduce your revenues – even during volatile market phases.

Here's how it's structured:

  • Aggregation and billing at quarter-hourly day-ahead exchange prices

  • Fixed service fee based on the plant's generation capacity

  • Variable service fee of 3% on your aggregation revenues

  • Transparent billing of mandatory balancing costs

  • One-time setup fee of 200 Euros

Categories of PV systems with favorable feed-in strategies for aggregation at spot market prices

Newer PV systems

with regulations for the discontinuation of market premiums during negative electricity prices – here, the combination of spot market aggregation + automatic curtailment comes into play. This leads to 9% higher aggregation revenues compared to the market value model.

Systems with a favorable feed-in profile:

due to weather conditions, an east-west orientation of the modules, or a tracking function

Systems with smart PV storage

Behind-the-meter battery storage and energy management systems enable price-based optimization of feed-in.

Post-EEG systems,

that can generate revenue through automatic curtailment or feed-in optimization, compensating for or exceeding the lost subsidies

Frequently asked questions

Who is allowed to sell electricity via aggregation?

LUOX Energy supports the aggregation of photovoltaic, wind, hydro and biogas installations. These renewable energy systems can sell their electricity directly on the electricity exchange and benefit from fluctuating market prices.

What is an RLM meter or a smart metering system (iMSys)?

RLM meters (load profile meters) and iMSys serve different purposes. Both types of meters record electricity consumption in 15-minute intervals. However, RLM meters not only measure electricity consumption but also capture peak loads. For generation systems such as PV installations, biogas systems, or wind turbines, RLM meters are used for installations with an installed capacity of 100 kWp or more. Under current regulations, these systems cannot yet be equipped with an iMSys - only smaller installations up to 100 kWp are eligible for a smart metering system.

Which aggregation interfaces does LUOX Energy support?

We support the following interfaces for enabling remote controllability in aggregation:
·       Ampere.cloud
·       energielenker
·       IntegraSun
·       MeteoControl (Blue'log and Web'log)
·       Modocorrente
·       PlexLog
·       Quantec
·       SMA (Cluster Controller and Data Manager M)
·       Solandeo
·       Solar-Log
·       SolarMax
·       Vestas

Once the interface is installed, we require confirmation of installation (proof of completion) from the installer. If the installer requires a VPN certificate from LUOX Energy, they can contact our support team directly at kontakt@luox-energy.de.

How does billing and compensation work in aggregation?

In aggregation, billing is based on the volume of electricity you deliver each month and the corresponding market price. You will receive a detailed statement from us, including an explanation of all components. Billing takes place on the 18th of the following month and payment is made on the 25th (e.g., electricity fed in during April: billing on May 18, payment on May 25). You will automatically receive the invoice by email and can also view it in your customer portal or LUOX Energy app.

What are the advantages of aggregation for businesses?

Aggregation offers businesses the opportunity to generate higher earnings by selling electricity at current market prices. It allows flexible adaptation to market conditions and uses real-time data to optimize energy sales. In addition, it promotes the use of renewable energy and enhances overall competitiveness.
