For both partners, the cooperation starting on January 31 opens up new development potential. E3/DC’s customers, who focus on maximum energy autonomy, will now have the opportunity to market the surplus electricity from their usually large-scale PV systems easily and under attractive conditions – thus becoming active players in the energy transition in this area as well. Lumenaza will become the recommended aggregator for a large and continuously growing community of PV system operators who, in addition to solar self-sufficiency, are increasingly discovering the opportunities of the wider renewable energy market.
Aggregation as an E3/DC Customer Experience
Lumenaza GmbH has extensive experience in managing solar and wind farms and is working with E3/DC on a complete aggregation solution for smaller producers: In addition to fair earnings from the spot market, this includes reduced costs and diversified risk for all operators who join Lumenaza’s production community. The required processes have been developed and tested, and owners of an E3/DC Home Power Plant can conclude the service contract with Lumenaza via the portal.
For E3/DC customers, the necessary installation of an intelligent metering system (iMSys), the marketing of electricity volumes, and the billing will be handled entirely by Lumenaza. What’s special: in the new E3/DC portal, aggregation will be visualized as an additional activity of the Home Power Plant and presented with current and historical data. This makes entry into active participation in the energy market directly tangible for E3/DC customers. The expansion of the portal and the partnership with Lumenaza are essential components of E3/DC’s comprehensive 360° autonomy concept, with which customers will perfect solar self-sufficiency: With the option of bidirectional charging, electric vehicles complement the Home Power Plant. Both storage systems can be used in the future to obtain renewable energy from the market at the right time during low-sunlight periods and use it later in the building.
In the name of E3/DC customers, Lumenaza will initially act as the seller of surplus electricity from PV systems on the electricity exchange. Compensation will be calculated by the hour based on spot market prices, and earnings will be invoiced and paid out monthly. And customers remain independent, because aside from a 24-month minimum term for metering operation, the service contract can be terminated on a monthly basis.
From the cooperation, Dr. Andreas Piepenbrink, CEO of HagerEnergy GmbH, and Dr. Christian Chudoba, CEO of Lumenaza GmbH, expect important impulses:
“E3/DC customers have taken the lead in self-sufficiency and sector coupling. They will also be among the first to recognize and use the electricity market as a tool for a successful energy transition. We are working together on this important option!”
